This is quite a long clip, but if you have the patience it is very rewarding to watch. This guy clearly knows his car very well, and is measured, controlled, very smooth at the wheel and very, very polite within his space - he knows where other cars are, both faster and slower, and allows for them both. With 410 horsepower, of course, it is easy to argue that things would appear to be relatively straightforward, but nothing is totally straightforward when you are on track in your £40,000 car. Ordinarily I am not a fan of folk 'chasing' or 'competing' with anyone, but the little captions that appear on the clip are both light-hearted and insightful - the driver here is only using other cars as a benchmark, and this is given away by the fact that his driving style and commitment, speed and line, don't change at all as he approaches those other vehicles against which he is measuring his own car, rather than himself, and this is smart driving. This approach to the track is something that we should all aspire to, even if it is unlikely that we will get the 40 grand car to do it in!
